AI messaging, managed by us

Abandoned checkout recovery and reorder reminders over email, SMS and WhatsApp — written by AI, checked by people, and run on your own store. Not another app for your team to configure and forget.

Most stores already pay for the tools to follow up after an abandoned checkout. Far fewer have them switched on, written properly and reviewed each month, because that is a job rather than a purchase.

Openable is the job. We build the flows inside your own Shopify or WooCommerce store, let AI draft and vary the messages around each product and customer, check them before they send, keep the consent and opt-out side clean, and report at the end of each month on what came back. One fee, nothing for your team to learn, and you can stop on 30 days' notice.

The gap

What we usually find

  • Customers run out and reorder somewhere else.
  • The abandoned checkout email is whatever the platform sends by default.
  • The email tool you pay for sends one newsletter a month.
  • Nobody on the team actually owns the follow-up.

None of this is a software problem. The tools have existed for years. The problem is that running them properly is somebody's full-time job.

The service

What we actually do

Reorder and refill timing

We read the real reorder interval out of your order history — per product, not a blanket 30 days — so the reminder lands just before somebody runs out rather than a fortnight after they bought elsewhere. This is the part no platform does for you, and the part that pays for the rest.

Abandoned checkout recovery

Shopify sends a basic abandoned checkout email already. We go past it: the product named, the right channel for the moment, a sequence rather than one message, and wording that gets rewritten when it stops working.

Messages written by AI, checked by us

AI drafts and varies every message around the product, the customer's history and the moment it is being sent, so a thousand people do not get the same paragraph. We review the templates before anything goes out, and rewrite whatever underperforms.

Email, SMS and WhatsApp as one sequence

The channels work together instead of competing: email where it is cheap and detailed, SMS or WhatsApp where it is urgent. One opt-out list across all three, and nobody gets the same message twice in two places.

Consent and opt-outs

We only message people who have given marketing consent, every message carries a working opt-out honoured across all channels, and the whole setup is designed around UK GDPR and PECR.

Reporting, and changes whenever you need them

A monthly report of recovered revenue, reorders, reply rate and opt-out rate, traceable in your own store's reports. New product line or seasonal push? Part of the fee — no change requests, no hourly billing.

How it works

Four steps, and three of them are ours

  1. Step 01

    Store review

We look at your checkout, your order history and the marketing consent you already hold, then tell you what we think it is worth — including if the honest answer is not much yet.

  2. Step 02

    We build it

We connect your store and your sending accounts, build the flows, set up opt-out handling and test everything on our own phones and inboxes before a single customer sees it.

  3. Step 03

    We run it

The flows go live and stay monitored. We adjust timing, wording, channel mix and sequencing as the numbers come in. Nothing lands on your team.

  4. Step 04

    You get the numbers

A report every month: what was recovered, what was reordered, what we changed and what we are trying next. Cancel on 30 days' notice at any point.

Straight answers

What we don't do

We don't promise a percentage

Every messaging tool quotes a recovery rate. It depends on your margin, your basket size and how your customers were collected, none of which we know before we look. We would rather show you a number after month one than invent one now.

We don't take every store

Under roughly 500 orders a month there usually are not enough abandoned checkouts for this to pay for itself, whichever platform you are on. We will tell you that rather than bill you for a year to find out.

We don't message people who didn't ask

If your marketing consent was not collected properly, the fix comes before the sending — not after a complaint. That is the part most people skip and it is the part that carries a fine.

We don't hold your setup hostage

Everything is built in accounts you own. If you stop, the flows, the templates and the data stay with you and keep working.

Who it suits

Stores whose customers come back

The work pays off where there is a natural reason to buy again — a bottle that runs out, a bag that gets finished, a routine that repeats. Shopify or WooCommerce, either is fine.

  • Supplements & wellness
  • Coffee & consumables
  • Skincare & beauty
  • Pet products
  • Fashion & apparel

What you get

One monthly fee, everything in it

No setup fee, no change fees, 30 days' notice. We quote once we have seen your store and your order history, because what the work involves depends on what is already there.

  • Setup, flows and message writing
  • Up to 5,000 SMS or WhatsApp messages a month
  • Running, monitoring and rewrites
  • A monthly report you can check against your store
  • Changes whenever you need them

We take on a small number of stores at a time so that each one gets looked at properly.

FAQ

The questions worth asking

Is this an app I install?

No. Openable is a service, not software. We build the flows inside your own store and your own sending accounts, write the messages and run them for you. There is nothing for your team to install or learn, and nothing stops working if you leave.

Which platforms do you work with?

Shopify and WooCommerce. Those two cover most of what we are asked for, and both give us the order history the timing depends on. If you are on something else, ask — the answer is sometimes yes, and we will say so quickly if it is no.

Which channels?

Email, SMS and WhatsApp, usually in combination. Email carries the detail and costs almost nothing to send; SMS and WhatsApp get read in minutes and are better for time-sensitive nudges. WhatsApp needs Meta business verification and approved templates before it can go live, which we handle, but it adds a week or two at the start.

What is the AI actually doing?

Writing and varying the messages, and choosing timing from each customer's own buying pattern. It drafts around the specific product, the order history and the moment, so the copy does not read like one template sent to everybody. What it is not doing is guessing at your customers or making predictions your data cannot support — the timing comes from arithmetic on real orders, and a person reviews the templates before they send.

What does the monthly fee cover?

Everything above: the flows, the message writing, running and monitoring them, the monthly report, and up to 5,000 SMS or WhatsApp messages a month with email on top. There is no setup fee, and if your volume goes past 5,000 messages we pass on the carrier cost at cost and tell you before it happens rather than after. We quote once we have looked at your store, because the work depends on what is already there.

What do you need from me?

Access to your store, a decision on tone of voice and whether we can offer discounts, and someone who can answer questions during the first week. After that, roughly nothing.

How is consent handled?

We only message customers who have given marketing consent, and every message carries a working opt-out that is honoured across all channels. The setup is designed around UK GDPR and PECR rules for electronic marketing. You remain the data controller and stay responsible for how that consent was collected at sign-up — if it was not collected properly, we will tell you and help you fix it before we send anything.

Am I tied in?

No. 30 days' notice, and the flows are built in accounts you own, so they stay with you when you leave.

Do you guarantee a return?

No, and be careful of anyone who does. What we will do is report recovered revenue every month against what you pay us, and tell you plainly if it is not covering its cost after three months.

Is my store big enough?

As a rough guide this starts to pay for itself from around 500 orders a month, because below that there are not enough abandoned checkouts to work with. If you are smaller than that, tell us anyway and we will say so honestly rather than take the fee.

See whether it is worth doing

Send us your store and a few details. We will look at what you have, then come back with what we think we can do, what it would cost, and how soon we could start — or with an honest no.
